thyroid hormones

hypothalamus makes TRH, pit makes TSH → binds to G protein receptors on thyroid to release T3, T4 hormones which can act on every cell in the body
<aside> 💡 Thyroglobulin (tyrosine rich protein) made in follicles, stored in lumen (as colloid)→ Iodination by thyroid peroxidase → reuptake by follicles → release into blood when TRH (from hypothalamus) → TSH (from ant pit) → T4, T3 release
