Pancreatic cancer
- adenocarcinoma of pancreatic ducts
- highly invasive with dense fibrosis and scarring
- typically (60%) arises in head of pancreas
- advanced stage at presentation
- poor prognosis (85% palliative care)
- 4th commonest cancer
- Tumour marker CEA & CA19–9 antigen
- late age >60yrs, men, famous people
- highest mortality (5% 5yr survival)
