<aside> 💡 Ryzodeg 70/30

• contains 100 units of insulin: 70 long acting insulin degludec (Optulosin) + 30 short acting insulin aspart (Novorapid)

  • bolus dose= (Ryzodeg Units x 0.3) /3 for individual doses given TDS </aside>

MOA: Enhances cellular uptake of the glucose, inhibits gluconeogenesis and inhibits lipolysis (ie the normal functions of insulin)

indication

• Type 1 DM
• Type 2 diabetes who are insulin dependant
• Gestational diabetes

Contraindication: Hypoglycaemia

Frequency:

Often take the long acting one to give a baseline level of insulin across the day. Post meal a short acting insulin is administered to allow for the uptake of glucose from the food
