• FBC and blood film
  • reticulocyte count (increased to compensate)
  • direct antiglobulin tests (DAT/coombs) positive with Autoimmune haemolytic anaemia
  • lactate dehydrogenase (increased with RBC lysis)
  • haptoglobin
  • haemosiderin urine and haemoglobin may be performed to demonstrate intravascular haemolysis if necessary
