- FBC and blood film
- reticulocyte count (increased to compensate)
- direct antiglobulin tests (DAT/coombs) positive with Autoimmune haemolytic anaemia
- lactate dehydrogenase (increased with RBC lysis)
- haptoglobin
- haemosiderin urine and haemoglobin may be performed to demonstrate intravascular haemolysis if necessary
