Aetiology and pathophysiology
Unknown, but a hormonal relationship has been established (increased estrogen, e.g., during pregnancy or before menstruation, may stimulate growth - Fibroadenomas increase in size during pregnancy and revert after menopause. ProLif of stromal & epi tissue
