Coag Studies
- Platelet count
- Prothrombin Time (PT)/INR
- Activated Partial Thromboplastin time (aPTT)
- fibrinogen: low levels indicate decreased production (liver disease, inherited deficiency) or increased consumption (DIC, fibrinolyis). high levels in acute phase response (inflammation, infection)
- Fibrin Degradation Products (FDP): increased with fibrinolysis (DIC)
- D-dimer: increased indicates recent or ongoing fibrinolysis (DIC)
