💡 Bile duct stones

Demographics: 1-15% patients with stones
Risk Factors:
- gall stones, same RFs
- Fat, Female, Forty, Fair, Fertile
- increased age
- rapid weight change
- pregnancy
- Oral contraceptives
- Disorders of bile metabolism & Hyperlipidemias.
- Diabetes
Pathophysiology: Gall stones obstruct common bile duct -> impeded bile flow from liver.
Clinical Features
- Biliary RUQ pain
- Sometimes with itch and jaundice
- Nausea/vomiting
- Dark urine, pale stools.
