Ultrasound Abdomen

screening/initial assessment of

• AAA (not ruptured!!)
• renal artery stenosis (doppler)
  • compare ratio and velocity of flow
  • if abnormal CTA

CT angiogram

• AAA

AAA: Dilated Abdominal Aorta with hypodense aneurysm

AAA: Dilated Abdominal Aorta with hypodense aneurysm

• Aortic dissection
  • double lumen
  • dilation of aorta

Dissection: Hyperdense region is patent aorta with contrast going through. Hyperdense region of descending aorta shows dissection.

• Renal artery stenosis
  • can do CT angio or MRI angio (MRA)
  • measure stenosis and assess other vessels
